Game modes

Four ways to play a quiz

Every quiz can be played in any of these modes — pick the one that fits your moment.

Solo Practice

Just you · no host

Play on your own, at your own pace. You get instant feedback after every question and a final score — perfect for self-study. No host or other players needed.

Self-Paced

Own speed · host tracks

The host opens the quiz, then each player moves through the questions at their own speed while a live board shows everyone’s progress and scores. Great as a take-home assignment.

Live Together

Everyone, in real time

The host leads from a big screen and reveals one question at a time. Everyone answers the same question together on their phones; fastest correct answers score the most.

Team Battle

Live · in colour teams

A live game where players are auto-assigned to colour teams and their points combine into a team leaderboard — perfect for friendly rivalry in a classroom.

Tournaments

How tournaments work

A tournament is a multi-round, knockout competition open to players everywhere. The field narrows each round until a single champion remains.

As a player

RegisterWhile registration is open, join free from the tournament’s page — before it begins.
Play each roundWhen a round opens, answer its questions within the time window. Missing a round counts as zero.
Score & advanceCorrect answers score first, speed breaks ties. The top players of each round advance.
Become championThe field narrows round by round until a single champion remains.

As an organizer (admin)

Create the tournamentIn Admin → Tournaments, click “New tournament”. Give it a title, prize and an end date, then add rounds — each round picks a quiz and sets how many players advance, the question count, and the time limit.
Open registrationFrom the Run console, click “Open registration”. Players can now find the tournament and sign up.
Open each roundWhen you’re ready, click “Open” on round 1. Registered players get its questions and answer within the time window.
Close & gradeClick “Close & grade” to score the round: the top players advance and the rest are eliminated. Repeat for each round (a round can’t open until the previous one is closed) until the final crowns one champion.
